Top industrialists in TN attend meeting with CM Palaniswami to discuss the way forward
The industrialists highlighted the headwinds that their industries are facing while also discussing the need for industries to start operations in a phased manner while not compromising on safety.

Among those who were part of the discussion were TVS Motor Chairman Venu Srinivasan, India Cements Vice Chairman N Srinivasan, Murugappa Group's Vellayan Subbiah, Ramco group CMD Venkatrama Raja, CII Tamil Nadu State Council Chairman K Hari Thiagarajan, among others. Apart from the Chief Minister, the Industry Minister MC Sampath, Industry Secretary N Muruganandam, and other officials were present.

N Srinivasan said that with no income and financial strain, the industry will face enormous difficulty if the lockdown is continued. He added that there will be a problem with raising funds from banks and paying salaries in the future too.
"We will go by your decision and will strictly follow the protocols on social distancing, on who should enter the factory, safety of employees and also strictly follow the standard operating procedures and dos and don't s already prepared by the company as per official guidelines," he said.
