Several top bureaucrats and police officials have skipped the high-level security review meeting called here on Friday by the Home Ministry.

NEW DELHI: Several top bureaucrats and police officials have skipped the high-level security review meeting called here on Friday by the Home Ministry.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta, Gujarat Chief Secretary Manjula Subramaniam, Gujarat Police Chief PC Pande and Delhi Police Commissioner YS Dadwal are not attending the meeting called in the wake of the recent terror attacks.

Chief Secretaries and police chiefs were called to Delhi to find ways to prevent attacks like those that occurred in Jaipur, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

The Home Ministry has proposed setting up of a federal terror agency, with powers to investigate terror strikes across the country.

The day long meeting will discuss ways to strengthen intelligence network and also review the investigations done so far, into the Bangalore and Ahmedabad blasts.
