Mumbai: Cops were posted to prevent any untoward incident outside Aurangzeb's tomb in Aurangabad after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena asked for it to be demolished.

Entry for tourists/visitors were revoked too by the local administration. The tomb came into limelight recently after the All India Majlis E Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Akbaruddin Owaisi mysteriously paid his respects there.

"Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray had told Saamana that the tomb should be demolished. Then why is it still there," asked MNS spokesperson Gajanan Kale on Tuesday.

"The Maharashtra government's act to provide security is like rubbing salt in our wounds. Aurangzeb brutally tortured Sambhaji Raje (son of Shivaji). He was the one who tried to trample on our swaraj and yet the Maharashtra government has provided security...," Kale alleged.
