To spread RSS' message, BJP to launch special six months programme in Uttar Pradesh
BJP is launching a six month public connect programme in Uttar Pradesh, which is the home state of the the RSS ideologue, in his birth centenary year.

As part of the programme, the ruling party will felicitate non-governmental organisations that are doing “real social work with true dedication and sacrifice” in the state, a departure of sorts for the party which has mostly made headlines for its crackdown on NGOs violating rules.
“Upadhyaya ji always helped the poor and unprivileged. We will identify and acknowledge NGOs on the same path. The attempt is also to make the youth join BJP’s political movement — politics should not continue to generate pessimistic views among the youth,” BJP’s state spokesman Rakesh Tripathi told ET.
Youth will remain the focus of the campaign to inspire them to join the BJP. The party will organise a ‘Pandit Deendayal Khel Utsav’ for young sportsmen as well as a ‘Yuva Kala Sangam’ for painters, singers, historians, writers, idol-makers and actors. “All such talented youth will be identified and invited for these events to be organised by the BJP,” Tripathi said.
There will be quiz competitions on the facets of Upadhyaya’s life in UP’s schools among the students of Class 8, 9 and 10. The party will provide a book on its icon to students who enrol for the quiz. Besides, BJP is making a list of families across UP which have successfully educated their girls with limited means — they will be publicly felicitated too. Career counselling will be provided by the party to students from SCs and STs.
A list is also being prepared of farmers who have benefited from central schemes and UP’s loan waiver scheme. BJP will also build a district-wise ‘Pandit Deendayal blood donor directory’ of its workers and will ask them to donate blood on August 14 across the state on the eve of the Independence Day.
This is to help rush a BJP blood donor in case of a public emergency. The party’s minority wing will meanwhile hold public meetings on the issues of the so-called triple talaq and women’s empowerment. The party will also conduct a mass tree plantation drive – a tree in each of the 1.47 lakh election booths in the state.
ET had on Wednesday reported BJP was set to start a ‘My House, BJP’s House’ campaign from May 10 in which 20,000 workers will go house-to-house for 15 days to enrol people as members.
