TNCC to organise demonstrations on October 3 in favour of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee has decided to organise demonstrations in all districts on October three insisting importance of early commissioning of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, to counter the protests against the Indo Russian nuclear collaboration.

Circulars have been sent to party district units about the decision, insisting the significance of early commissioning of the project, TNCC president B S Gnanadesikan said in a release today.

"Some persons" were behind the stir for more than a year which was disturbing the commissioning work at KNPP, he alleged.

"Even after reports by central and state panels, former president A P J Abdul Kalam and judgement by Madras High Court, protestors are organising demonstrations day after day and are trying to divert the issue," he said.
