CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu on Thursday decided to allocate ten acres of land to Wipro and five acres of land to Tata Consultancy Services in Coimbatore.

This decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister M Karunandihi here.

The cabinet also decided to exempt registration fee and stamp duty for 1061 acres of land in Nagapattinam to be distributed to agricultural labourers by an organisation `Lofty', which would buy the land from private parties for distribution to poor agricultural labourers.

Similar exemption would be given for the land to be distributed to 550 agricultural labourers belonging to the Dalit community by a Dalit organisation, Ambedkar People's Association.

Exemption from registration fee and stamp duty would be given to the houses allocated for the soldiers who died in the Kargil war.
