TN should form SIT to probe BJP leader's murder: Subramanian Swamy
COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu government should immediately form a Special Investigation Team to probe the recent killings of leaders of various Hindu outfits, Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today said.

The issue is very serious and appears to be pre-meditated and pre-planned, since the miscreants were targeting people who have dedicated their lives to service, Swamy told reporters in response to a question on the murder of BJP state general secretary, V Ramesh at Salem last night.

"If Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa wants the law and order to be preserved and maintained, she should investigate the murder by a SIT," he said.

To a question on remarks of BJP President Rajnath Singh on English, Swamy said he felt that some newspapers had twisted the remarks. Singh had expressed regret that English could be the reason for the neglect of Indian culture and tradition, after going behind westernisation, he said.

"Being an international language, it is not possible to ban English," he added.

Congress had slammed Singh for his remark that the spread of English had hurt Indian culture.
