CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported a further decline in Covid-19 cases on Monday after reporting under 4000 cases for the first time in over two weeks on Sunday.

Chennai too reported under 1000 for the first time in weeks with 885 people testing positive for the infection on Monday.

The State saw 3536 people testing positive for the infection on Monday, as opposed to 3914 people on Sunday, the State media bulletin confirmed.


This takes the total tally in the State to 690,936 cases.

The number of deaths too went down from 56 on Sunday to 49 on Monday, with which the death toll touched 10,691.

As many as 4515 people recovered from the infection on Monday, and the total recoveries now stand at 642,152.

The state tested 83,625 people on Monday, a drop from the whopping 93,844 people who were tested for Covid-19 last Wednesday.
