TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee writes to META over alteration of his personal information on Facebook

TMC Member of Parliament Abhishek Banerjee has raised concerns about a breach of privacy involving his official Facebook page.

In a letter addressed to META, the parent company of Facebook, Banerjee, through his lawyer Sanjay Basu, has alleged unauthorised access to his account and the alteration of his personal information.

In the communication, Banerjee has demanded that META take immediate action to secure his account and restore his personal details. He has also warned that failure to address the issue promptly could result in legal action against the social media giant.


Banerjee’s Facebook page, which is a key platform for his political communication, has reportedly been compromised, with changes made to his account details without his consent. The MP has urged META to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.
