TMC leader Anubrata Mandal under surveillance

BOLPUR: Following an Election Commission directive, Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mandal in Birbhum district was placed under 24x7 surveillance a day before the Sunday polls. This was done under the district magistrate’s order. Deputy magistrate Mrinmoy Das reached Mandal’s house at around 8 am on Saturday. Ten jawans of the Central forces were deployed outside the house. A local videographer was also part of the team as per the EC’s directive. EC wanted to keep Mandal’s election-related activities under constant watch.
