TMC condemns Left protests against Mamata Banerjee, to stall Parliament proceedings
Trinamool Congress today said it would stall Parliament proceedings to ask the government how it allowed such an incident to occur in a high security zone.
"This programme (of protests) was launched a few days ago by (CPI-M leader) Sitaram Yechury outside the Banga Bhavan (state government residency) here. Yechury and Prakash Karat are leading these attacks from behind and encouraging the politics of violence," Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sudip Bandopadhyay told PTI.
He accused Left leaders in West Bengal, especially those of the CPI(M), of "playing politics over the dead body of Sudipta Gupta".
"When Parliament session resumes on April 22, we will seek an answer from the government as to how such an attack could take place in the heart of the capital, a high security zone. We will stall the House from the very first day, on all days," he said.
