Rathore who was in Guwahati to participate in the 19th youth festival said, “ There is no point in just looking East, the Prime minister wants acting East, so ministers are asked to visit Northeast India frequently. Time table is being worked for the ministers visit.”
Modi has asked his colleagues to spend a “reasonable” duration of time in these States and chalk out their schedule. Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) will coordinate tours by different ministers of the Union Council to different States and districts of the North East
Rathore said that Information and broadcasting ministry will encourage in setting up community radios in border areas. “Three satellite channels in local languages of Northeast India will be launched. The production of the programmes will be done here.”
The minister added a film and television institute will be set up in the Northeast India.” Survey is being done for suitable location. In the recent film festival in Goa, the whole thing was put in Google hangout and social media presence of all the ministers will be increased.”
He added government will ramp up social media presence of different central government ministries. The minister informed that E- Books are being developed by Information and Broadcasting ministry. “Doordarshan is going to be digitalized.”
