According to the National Centre for Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, the epicentre of the quake was Indo-Pak border and it hit at a depth of 15 kms.

NEW DELHI: Three medium-intensity earthquakes today shook several parts of the country including Gujarat, Punjab and Delhi.

A quake measuring 4.6 on the Richter Scale hit the area around the Indo-Pak border region in Punjab at 5:24 PM, tremors of which were felt in Pakistan and several parts of north India, including Delhi.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, the epicentre of the quake was Indo-Pak border and it hit at a depth of 15 kms.

"The epicentre was on the Indian side, but very close to the border," Operations Head, NCS J L Gautam said. There were no reports of any immediate loss of lives or damage to property.

Earlier in day, another medium-intensity earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter Scale hit Gujarat at 9:25 AM. And, Chandel in Manipur also received a jolt at 8.01 AM measuring 3.2 on the scale.
