Three out of four candidates from Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj have criminal cases against them
Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj party, despite claims of fielding only 'clean image' candidates, has three out of four by-poll candidates facing serious criminal charges. These charges include kidnapping, attempt to murder, extortion, theft, and assa...

This was revealed after the candidates, contesting elections on newly formed Jan Suraaj's tickets, submitted their affidavits to Election Commission.
The party is contesting in by-elections from all four seats in the state - Belaganj, Imamganj, Ramgarh, and Tarari.
Political experts are surprised as 75 per cent of Jan Suraaj candidates allegedly have a "tainted" image.
Of the three, the party's Imamganj candidate, Jitendra Paswan, faces serious criminal cases like kidnapping, cheating, theft, and assault, according to his self-attested poll affidavit filed before EC. Similarly, Belaganj candidate, Mohammad Amjad, revealed in his poll affidavit about criminal cases.
Party candidate from Ramgarh, Sushil Kushwaha, also has criminal cases against him. His affidavit suggests that he has charges of attempt to muder.
"All our candidates have a 'clean image', and the cases were part of attempts to damage their reputation," Jan Suraaj's national spokesperson, Sadaf Iqbal claimed, adding that revelation of cases pending against them means they didn't hide the facts.
