SALEM: Three DMK workers have been arrested following a clash between two warring factions in the central and east districts of the party at Omalur, police said.

They said cases had been registered against DMK central district secretary Rajendran and salem east district secretary Veerapandi Raja following the clash.

When news spread of the arrest of the cadres, other party activists gathered in front of the police station where they were taken and requested that they be released.

However police told them that it would not be possible as cases had been registered against the three, following which the crowd dispersed.
