Threat from don prompted govt to place Amar in Z category
Orders for the upgradation were issued by the union home ministry on Thursday, a day after Mr Singh was accorded a lavish reception at prime minister Manmohan Singh���s dinner held to mark the UPA governments fourth ministry. The decision to upscale Mr Singhs security was seen in political circles here as yet another sign of the improvement in ties between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party.
It now, however, transpires that it was, in fact, the growing threat to Mr Singh���s life from an independent MLA from eastern UP, who���s now gravitated towards the BSP, which prompted the decision.
