During his speech, Shah highlighted the significant reduction in terrorism-related deaths in Jammu and Kashmir under the Modi government. According to him, there has been a 70% decrease in such incidents, demonstrating the government's strong stance against terrorism. Shah stressed that this decline reflects the effective strategies and policies adopted by the Centre.
Shah also expressed his gratitude to the state police and paramilitary forces for their sacrifices in securing the country's internal and border security. He stated, "I express my gratitude to thousands of State Police and central paramilitary force jawans who made the supreme sacrifice to strengthen the country's internal security as well as borders."
Emphasising the challenges faced by the MHA, Shah explained that while law and order are state responsibilities, crimes like cybercrime, narcotics, and organised crime often cross state and national boundaries. This, he said, makes coordination crucial. He credited PM Narendra Modi for making long-pending changes in the ministry to strengthen national security.
