Those spreading rumours on social media not to be spared: UP CM Akhilesh Yadav
Following incidents of misuse of social networking platforms by mischievous elements to spoil communal harmony, Yadav said those engagin in it would not be spared.

Days after launching the Whatsapp number of police, Yadav said social media platforms like Whatsapp and Facebook have developed with growth of science and technology in the country but it has been noticed that some recent incidents of communal flare-up occurred due to the rumours spread through Whatsapp.
"The most disturbing fact about these incidents is that those who had been spreading rumours were found to be minors," he said today after inaugurating a private theme park here.
Few days back, reportedly, incidents of communal tension were triggered in various places in UP like Agra, Kannauj, Bahraich and Jalaun with some mischievous elements circulating objectionable material on WhatsApp.
The Chief Minister had asked the police to take stern action against the culprits circulating hate messages.
Similarly, objectionable photos of him, SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and UP cabinet Minister Azam Khan are being posted on Facebook and comments are made on them, he said.
He also warned that those who are involved in such activities should not forget that the government is following it and strict action would be taken against them
