This PM Giorgia Meloni and PM Modi memes have gone too far, they are absolutely cringe and also a poor reflection of the level of humour that prevails in India, said Shiv Sena (UBT) MP on Saturday.

This comes after several memes did rounds on social media with #Melodi which has also been trending on X since yesterday.

Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni shared a light-hearted moment with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a selfie video posted on her social media from the G7 Summit in Italy's Apulia.


"Hello from the Melodi team," Meloni greeted in the video, capturing both leaders laughing together.

This isn't the first time Meloni and Modi have captured attention with their interactions. Last December during the COP28 summit in Dubai, Meloni shared a selfie with Modi, tagging it as 'Good friends at COP28' with #Melodi, which quickly went viral with 47 million views.

During the G7 Summit, PM Modi, representing India as an outreach nation, was warmly received by the Italian PM with a namaste as they exchanged pleasantries.

PM Modi's visit to Italy marks his first official trip after being sworn in for the third time on June 9. During the summit, he addressed an outreach session on Artificial Intelligence, emphasising the importance of technology benefiting all sectors of society and calling for an end to monopolies in technology.
