Third Eye: Travel season for politicians, a Tutari message & a digital lottery

It's the season of foreign travel for chief ministers and deputy chief ministers. Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin is on a long US tour to attract investors. Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal is touring South Korea and Japan. Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar and Chhattisgarh deputy chief minister Arun Sao are traveling to the US.

‘Tutari’ Makes Ajit Smile and ‘Sends a Political Message’

When Ajit Pawar was speaking to journalists during his recent visit to a Ganesh pandal, a volunteer kept blowing tutari (blow horn). Normally, Pawar would get irritated, but after the Lok Sabha poll debacle, he has been trying to keep a smiling face. Pawar smiled at the tutari player and asked him to stop so that he could talk. Interestingly, tutari is also a symbol of the rival group, Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar. Naturally, some people have started looking for political messaging in his gesture.

Winner is State and Country

Meghalaya govt has launched the first digital lottery system, EasyLottery, to bring in more transparency. Launching the lottery, CM Conrad Sangma said when people win a prize, they benefit from it and when they lose, taxes paid by them are utilised for the welfare of the state and country.
