Savdhan! Crime Patrol and CID
BJP's Ashti MLA Suresh Dhas has been vocal about the alleged lawlessness in Beed. He has also alleged that government officials are so complicit in crimes that they deliberately look the other way. Recently, while talking about Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh's murder, Dhas said that the BJP-led Maharashtra government should hire police officers from crime serials like Crime Patrol, CID and Savdhan India as they are the only ones who are honest and can solve the crime while the 'original police' is good for nothing.

Waqf may go global
The parliamentary committee on the waqf amendment bill has been holding discussions with stakeholders across the country. In the next few days, the panel members are scheduled to visit Lucknow, Patna and Kolkata. A few committee members have now suggested they should travel abroad as well to study the waqf act in those countries.

Chaitanya Library

Restoration of Kolkata’s 135-year-old Chaitanya Library, associated with prominent figures such as Rabindranath Tagore, has begun. Calcutta Heritage Collective, an organisation involved in the restoration and preservation of city heritage, is behind the initiative to revive the library, which houses a collection of one lakh books and thousands of journals. Founded in 1889 by luminaries such as Tagore and Kunj Behari Datta, the library contains 25,000 journals, some dating back to the 19th century.
