West Bengal Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is known to be at his aggressive best when it comes to taking on his bete noire, CM Mamata Banerjee. After getting wind last month that AICC was planning to replace him, he made the plan public by offering to quit. However, the ongoing agitation against the state's Trinamool government over the rape and murder of a medic has created a tricky situation for the Congress leadership. With heavy rains battering Andhra Pradesh and flooding several districts, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is facing his first real test in office. For starters, he has moved out of his chief minister’s residence and is now operating out of a bus so that he is immediately available in case of an issue that requires his attention. He has been inspecting flooded neighborhoods on a boat sometimes till 2.30 am.

Supriya Sule, who avoided attacking cousin Ajit Pawar before the Lok Sabha polls, has come out with all guns blazing. Referring to Pawar’s frequent statements that he wakes up early and begins his work, Sule without naming him said that he was not doing any favour to anyone, adding that people are not bothered about who wakes up early. Even a milkman, who delivers milk early in the morning, gets up early, Sule said while targeting his cousin.
