Third Eye: Randeep Surjewala vanishes from the media space

The talk in Congress these days is about the speed with which Randeep Surjewala vanished from 24 Akbar Road as well from the media space ever since the AICC official communique “thankfully relieved” (sic) him as the communications wing chief. The change happened after Sonia Gandhi’s comments at Udaipur that were seen as her disapproval of Surjewala’s extremely verbose media briefings. He is now planning to ‘make his mark’ in the Rajya Sabha.

Rain washes away plan
The Gujarat BJP had planned a massive road show for National Democratic Alliance (NDA )presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu’s in Kevadiya, a tribal-dominated region. The party wanted to give a message to the community. However, the programme got cancelled because of excessive rains and floods in the state. Finally, it was decided that she would visit Ahmedabad on Sunday, a day before the presidential election.


Not true to their words
Both the Congress and the Shiv Sena are having a tough time figuring out how many MLAs would remain loyal. So much so that even Shiv Sena president is now skeptical. A few days ago, Sheetal Mhatre, a known Uddhav loyalist, threatened to spank the rebel MLAs once they return from Guwahati but later on himself joined the Shinde camp. Similarly, Girish Chodankar, ex-Goa Congress chief, complained that Digambar Kamat took oath of not switching parties but didn’t keep that promise.
