With the Centre taking its ambitious plan to set up world-class institutes to the Cabinet soon, institutes have already started lining up to bag the status. Vedanta University chairman BK Patnaik, former Odisha chief secretary, was recently in HRD ministry to discuss the intricacies involved in the process to win the special status.

AAP supporters from Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the US have written to Kejriwal opposing Mann’s likely appointment as party’s Punjab convener. The authors of the joint letter, who claim to have made huge donations to the party, have claimed that if Mann is made convener, it will be a ‘regressive’ move and the decision will have ‘irrevocable’ consequences.
