It has simply renamed the nilgai as ‘rojad’ so that the ‘gai’/cow association is forgotten and the crop-devouring animal can be killed with less compunction. A notification to the effect has already been issued by the state.

Last week, ex-state home minister T Radhakrishna, an ally of Oommen Chandy, met Gandhi to tell that “restructuring” must start with the removal of PCC chief himself.
