Third eye: 'Made-up' stories and 'sources', foggy weather ruins plans, and Lost and found in Delhi metro

Maharashtra deputy CM Ajit Pawar while speaking at a recent event to honour journalists claimed that several journalists have "made up" stories about him and attributed it to "sources". Pawar said that one day, he would like to sit with these journalists to find out who these sources were. Continuing in the same vein, the NCP chief said that not just journalists, even these sources should be honoured with a lifetime achievement award.

In winter, flights getting cancelled due to the fog might be a normal thing but it creates a flutter when a central minister is on one of those flights. On Tuesday, Union minister of state for home affairs Nityanand Rai faced a similar situation. Rai was traveling in a Delhi-Patna Indigo flight which reached Patna around 10 pm. But due to low visibility because of the fog, the flight circled around Patna for 40 minutes before returning to Delhi. The security staff which was at the Patna airport to receive Rai had to return without him.

Cash totaling over `40 lakh, 89 laptops, 193 mobiles and nine 'mangalsutras' top the list of things left behind by commuters in Delhi Metro in 2024. The items were collected and later restored to the owners by CISF personnel after the claims were verified. The CISF provides a counter-terrorist security cover to the public transport network that spans more than 250 stations covering over 350 km of rail track in the national capital region. Many items were forgotten by passengers near the X-ray baggage scanner in the station area.
