Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had to endure a two-hour wait at the airport in Lucknow due to a server issue, before finally being able to board his flight to Delhi. He was scheduled to leave in the evening. Along with the common public, the minister had been hit hard by the massive flight cancellations and delays brought on by a worldwide problem with Microsoft servers.
‘Trouble engine’ attack now:
The BJP has emphasised the importance of being in power in both the state and the centre, claiming that having a ‘double engine’ government benefits the state by allowing for faster development. Until now, the Maharashtra Opposition lacked a reply, but Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party has attacked the state government for lagging in a number of categories when compared to other states, branding the ruling parties as a ‘trouble engine’ government.
Wait for meeting after the Budget:
Following the budget, all eyes will be on the Niti Aayog Governing Council meeting on July 27 and the positions taken by various chief ministers, since special dispensations are planned for NDA allies in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. While there is speculation that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee may attend the Prime Minister-chaired meeting, the Congress's Chief Ministers in Karnataka and Telangana remain undecided.
