Leaving protestors with no effigy to burn
Some farmer groups carried an effigy of BJP MP Kangana Ranaut to burn to protest her remarks about the farmers' demonstration in Delhi two years ago. However, in an amusing turn of events, as the cadres of the farmers organisations took Ranaut's effigy from a vehicle to burn it, the UP police merely pulled the effigy and fled with it. With no effigy, the farmers' association was left to raise anti-Ranaut slogans.

Chennai to Delhi: To take NEP journey or not to?
Letters are flying thick and fast between New Delhi and Chennai on the National Education Policy 2020. CM M K Stalin wrote to PM Modi earlier this week about the pending fund release for the Samagra Shiksha project and requested that it be delinked from the PM-SHRI scheme, which TN has qualms about due to the NEP 2020 commitment. On Friday, Education Minister Dharmedra Pradhan wrote to Stalin, reminding him of nine letters his ministry has sent to TN since 2022, seeking cooperation on PM-SHRI. He later tagged CM Stalin on X, imploring him to put children's right to a world-class education above political differences.
