Smooth Flow for Ganga Bill
The Ganga Bill, closely watched by the PMO, is finally moving. Two months after the Justice Giridhar Malviya committee submitted its draft Bill, the National Mission on Clean Ganga has got into action. A NMCG committee fine tuning the landmark bill to clean up the river and keep it flowing, held its first meeting this week and word is that the legislation is readying for passage very soon.

All Invited to Russian Party
The occasion was the Russian National Day and the venue was sprawling Russian Embassy in town. One of the best musical troupes from Russia was in performance through the evening. The guest list had pleasant surprises as it included American and other Western diplomats, signalling nascent thaw in ties between the two sides.

The Other RSS Won’t Do
The RSS is busy promoting its women’s wing but is not quite sure of how to show its affiliation to the main sangh parivar. Some started addressing the wing as “the other RSS” recently but were asked not to carry that description forward.
