Assam’s agriculture minister Atul Bora administering injection to animals has stirred a controversy, with NGO Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti lodging an FIR against the minister at Golaghat police station citing cruelty. The FIR has been registered under the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2022 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. The NGO has alleged that the minister vaccinated the animals in an unauthorised way.
