Third eye: Holy Sangam water for prisoners & report card ahead of Bihar polls

The UP government has decided that around 90,000 prisoners in 76 jails of the state will also take a holy dip in Sangam water. The government has arranged to send the Sangam water to all the jails and on Friday, the prisoners will take a holy dip in the Sangam water in a specially-created pond in the jail.

Call of duty: Pankaj Singh, the newly-elected minister in the Delhi government, lost his mother on Tuesday. The cremation took place on Wednesday and the BJP MLA took oath as a minister on Thursday. A dentist by profession, Singh is a first-time MLA from Vikaspuri in Delhi and his family hails from Buxar in Bihar. He is the Purvanchal face of the BJP in the Delhi cabinet.

Report card ahead of Bihar polls: The next big election is lined up in Bihar and the central government has already started on the job. The PMO is learnt to have held a meeting this week to review progress on all central projects in Bihar where the PM may have laid the foundation stone or inaugurated the project. Top secretaries from across the ministries had a report card readied for the same.
