Third Eye: Gold medal in Saha's name, Ajit Pawar's grudge, and Sharad Pawar's health

King George's Medical University in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow has announced a gold medal in the name of Tripura CM Manik Saha. Prof Ranjit Kumar Patil informed the varsity's decision to Saha in a letter. Saha, who is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, served at the Tripura Medical College and BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital in the state's capital before becoming the chief minister on May 15, 2022.

‘Fixing’ the Sources for ‘Made-up’ Stories
NCP leader Ajit Pawar recently claimed that journalists were making up stories about him based on sources. Ajit had slyly remarked that such “sources” should be given lifetime achievement awards. A few days later, another story based on sources, irked Ajit so much that he told journalists that they have lost their minds. He then quickly joked that he is looking for these “sources” and that the day he finds them, he would “fix them”.

Pawar Unwell, but Still Wants to Meet People
As NCP-SP leader Sharad Pawar has been unwell due to some throat issues, her daughter Supriya Sule has been receiving calls from across the political spectrum about his father’s health. Sule while talking to journalists revealed that Uddhav Thackeray too had called and emphasized that Pawar should stay home till he recovers. To which Sule said that it was difficult to keep Pawar at home as he liked to meet people. Uddhav then jokingly told Sule that Pawar might be “harassed” by other family members within the house and hence wants to spend more time outside.
