Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday claimed that there is no rift in the party.

Former chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said external forces are interfering in the running of the party in the state adding that he has apprised the same to party’s central leaders.

Talking to media persons after the state executive meeting of the party in Sepahijala district, Saha said,” Our party is always united and there is no question that should arise on it. We all are united and there is no problem. Our party is like a family. In family problems happen ultimately it’s solved by our guardians. And we talk to each other.”

He said, “In the meeting, we focused on the Lok Sabha election and nine years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have also held a discussion on booth empowerment and we are working on strengthening 3328 booths. “

Deb, who was former President of Tripura unit of BJP, without naming any person and any leader said that some people from outside interfered in the party’s internal matters.

“I have informed this to the central leadership. We shall run the party under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Party and government have to be run in the right direction. I have apprised the leadership of such external interference. BJP is a disciplined party,” he told the media at his official residence in Agartala.

He explained, “You understand the details of external interference. Everyone understands why party organisation is hampered. I am not a bureaucrat or an officer. When such outside interference happens, it's my duty to present these before the right place."

He said, " We will ensure that BJP wins both the Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 parliamentary polls."

In the assembly polls early this year Deb was not seen in a major role. He was not seen in major events. Party sources said that Deb was willing to make a comeback in state politics by contesting in assembly polls.
