There is no place for corrupt in India now, says Prime Minister Narendra Modi
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced that the demonetisation scheme will be completed within a fixed time frame.

Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur district in the afternoon Modi stated, "The work has started. I will finish the work in a fixed time limit."

The PM was addressing his first rally after demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. The rally is meant for the launch of railway projects in Ghazipur.

"This is the first time poor is sleeping in peace while rich is running from pillar to post to buy sleeping pills," said Modi.

"I had come here in May 2014, that time I had come to seek your support and you placed your faith in me, I am here to return that faith with interest, " Modi said.

"You asked me to finish the black money in the country, so, if am doing that now, is it wrong?" Modi asked his supporters at the rally.

Modi also said that the inconvenience caused to the people is necessary to scoop out black money from the Indian economy. "New whitewash gives out foul smell, but it is necessary," the PM said.

The PM asserted that there is no option left for the dishonest in the country now and the government is only fulfilling promises made during election time to fight corruption.

"This is poor people's money which you have looted and I will not allow this to happen. I know these corrupt people are very powerful, but I will not give up. I will not leave the path of truth & integrity," Modi said.

PM Modi hit out at the Congress for opposing the demonetisation. He said, "You (Congress) also demonetised 25 paise coin. Only this was your strength. And what I have done (by demonetising Rs 500 & Rs 1000 notes) is MY STRENGTH."
