There cannot be compromise on national interest: Ram Vilas Paswan

GUWAHATI: Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister, Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday said there couldn't be any compromise on the national interest and country’s interest comes first.

Paswan who was in Guwahati said, NDA government is just 20 month old and for the incidents that happened, Congress is making so many hue and cries. "Why congress was silent earlier." He was apparently referring to killing of a Dalit student in Hyderabad and JNU row.

Asking political parties not to politicize the issues concerning higher education, Paswan added, "The constitution of the country is the highest authority and anybody transgressing the Lakshman Rekha will be dealt with. There cannot be any compromise on the national interest."
