The presence of Finmeccanica in India goes back more than 40 years, to the early 70s when the group supplied 41 Sea King helicopters to the Indian Navy.

1980: Selex ES supplied Combat Management Systems for the 3 Godavari Class frigates, WASS supplied 245 A244 lightweight torpedoes.
1991: Oto Melara supplied 31 76/62 mm naval guns for Indian Navy
1998: Selex EX communication systems for Indian Navy.
2001: Selex ES supplied Precision Approach Radar 2080C to IAF, Navy in partnership with HAL, BEL.
2005: Wass Counter measures for submarines, SeLex ES won Mirach 110/5 high subsonic target drone systems contract.
2006: 50 ATR 72-500 supplied to Air Deccan and Kingfisher.
2007: Selex EX bags AAI contract to supply ATC systems in Bangalore, Hyderabad airports.
2009: Ansaldo STS gets contract from Indian Railways for train protection system, signalling, communications.
2010: AugustaWestland wins contract for 12 AW101 helicopters for Indian government; Tata Sons & AugustaWestland forms JV — Indian Rotorcraft — for assembly, delivery of AW119 helicopter.
2011: Selex ES wins contract from Navy to supply 3D L Band Air Surveillance Radar (RAN-40L); Ansaldo STS to supply signalling equipment to Kolkata Metro.
2012: Selex Galileo signs agreement with Data Patterns Group for defence electronics, MBDA’s (JV with BAE Systems, EADS & Finmeccanica) MICA air-to-air missile part of Mirage upgrades.
