Thane gets 150 per cent more rainfall this season than last year

As per the official statement issued here, till July 21 last year, the cumulative rainfall was 451 mm, while for the same period this year it is 1,112 mm.

THANE (MAHA): Thane district has received around 150 per cent more rainfall so far this year as compared to corresponding period last year, the district administration said here today.

As per the official statement issued here, till July 21 last year, the cumulative rainfall was 451 mm, while for the same period this year it is 1,112 mm.

The storage of water in the dams is also comfortable and most of the dams have more than 60 percent storage the reports added.

The dam-wise storage in the district is: Dhamni 70.04 per cent; Kawdas 100 per cent; Bhatsa 67.25 per cent; Vandri 69.94 per cent; Modak Sagar 64.25 per cent; Tansa 68.00 per cent, and Barvi 47.48 per cent. These dams supply water to Thane and Palghar districts.
