Thackeray sets out on state tour to boost party morale

Thackeray will tour Maharashtra as part of the party's efforts to uplift the morale of the grassroots workers after a rebellion led to the fall of his government in the state last year.

Uddhav Thackeray, president of the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena, on Sunday said there was an immediate need for the Opposition to come together against the BJP government at the Centre. Slamming the Centre for using central agencies against the Opposition, Thackeray warned of the BJP getting the same treatment if they lose power.

He was addressing a rally at Khed in Ratnagiri to welcome leaders into his faction.

Thackeray will tour Maharashtra as part of the party's efforts to uplift the morale of the grassroots workers after a rebellion led to the fall of his government in the state last year.


Slamming the Election Commission for giving the party name and symbol to the (Eknath) Shinde camp, Thackeray said that in spite of the EC order, they would continue to call themselves the Shiv Sena.
