The Maharashtra political circles are buzzing with speculation: will Uddhav and Raj Thackeray reunite? As talks swirl, Maharashtra Deputy CM and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde is working overtime to assert his leadership. Shinde stands to lose the most if the Thackerays join forces.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Shinde swiftly flew to Srinagar to oversee the safe evacuation of stranded Maharashtrian tourists, arranging special flights independent of the state government's efforts. His camp repeatedly highlighted his leadership during the crisis, while taking jabs at Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray for being abroad on vacation. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) skipped the all-party meeting in Delhi, giving Shinde's team more ammunition to showcase his commitment.

Shinde's efforts underline his strategy of projecting a hands-on, proactive image, contrasting sharply with the Thackeray cousins' perceived absence. With Maharashtra politics at a tipping point, Shinde is determined not to let the possible Thackeray reunion overshadow his hard-earned position within Shiv Sena.
