NEW DELHI: President Pratibha Patil on Sunday asked people not to get deterred by terror acts and said the country will march forward even more confidently after incidents like the Delhi serial blasts.

"Such blasts cannot disturb us. We will march forward more confidently. This is a work of cowards and we will fight this courageously," Patil said referring to yesterday's serial blast in the national capital which have so far claimed 24 lives.

The President was speaking at a function here on the occasion of 'Hindi Diwas'. Patil said foreign companies which have set up their businesses in the country have recognised the importance of Hindi for carrying out their trade activities.

"Due to the liberal trade policies in the country, multi-national and other foreign companies have recognised the importance of Hindi. The advertisements of these companies are now visible in the national language," she said.

Favouring the use of Hindi in high-class, useful and meaningful literature, Patil said once this could be achieved, everyone would readily accept the language.
