Tension prevails in Nandigram
Tension prevailed in trouble-torn Nandigram which witnessed some incidents of violence today.
"There were some incidents but it was controlled. The Central forces sought by the state administration are yet to arrive. We had written to the Centre yesterday seeking forces", Home secretary P R Roy told reporters here.
Nandigram has witnessed frequent clashes between ruling CPI(M) and opposition Trinamool Congress.
Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had yesterday briefed Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil on the situation in Nandigram and sought Central reserve police.

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee had yesterday demanded that Nandigram's border with Khejuri be sealed to stop continuing violence.
Asked whether the state government was for a political solution to the problem in Nandigram, Roy said the Chief Minister himself had stated that he wanted a political solution.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress general secretary Partha Chatterjee, who visited Nandigram today, said he would try to visit the areas affected by violence in the past few days.
