Tendulkar facing threat from Jaish-e-Mohammad: Police
Tendulkar's security has been tightened in its wake.
"The Central government has issued a high-alert for Sachin. They have information that the JeM has issued a threat to him. We have informed everyone and his security has been tightened," Nagpur Police Commissioner Praveen Dixit said.
Tendulkar will be arriving for the fourth and final Test match against visiting Australia from November 6-10.
"The city police have received an advisory from central agencies about the threat from Jaish-e-Mohammad. Hence we are leaving no stone unturned in providing security to him," another top police official said here.
The teams, which arrive here this evening from Delhi, will be given adequate security cover, including in Hotel Pride near the airport where they will stay, police said.
Security has also been beefed up at the old stadium of the Vidarbha Cricket Association at Civil Lines, where the two teams will have net sessions for the next two days, they added.
The match will be played at the new stadium in Jamtha, about 16 kms near here.
