GUWAHATI: At least 10 people were killed in Bhalukpong in Arunachal Pradesh in landslides. Landslides were triggered by torrential rains.

West Kameng district superintendent of police A Koan said the landslide occurred when a small hillock near the Old Inspection Bungalow caved in. Five bodies are recovered.

Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, JP Rajkhowa has expressed shock over the loss of lives in a massive landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in West Kameng District.

The Governor has announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs. one lakh for the next of kin of each of victim died in the landslide.

The Governor cautioned the people and has advised them to be alert and take necessary precautions as the State is experiencing torrential rainfall.
