Temporary housing facility developed for Kumbh Mela in Nashik
NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has here developed a residential area for members of various akhadas, khalsas - religious groups - ahead of the Kumbh Mela which commences this month.

The process of distribution of plots where makeshift structures will be built for saints of various akhadas started here yesterday, Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad president mahant Gyandasaji Maharaj said.

The temporary structures are being developed on 315 acre area in city's Tapovan locality and will also have toilet facility.

A total of 1700 plots have been developed, of which 400 have been reserved for social organisations while the remaining would be distributed to three akhadas, he added.
