Tell the nation the truth about Chinese intrusions: Rahul to Modi

NEW DELHI: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on Friday led top Congress leadership across India in a social media campaign in which they released separate video messages, saluting the martyrs and demanding that PM Modi must explain the truth about the Chinese intrusions and explain how he will deal with it.

"I salute our brave martyrs for the sacrifice. I would also like urge the PM to tell the nation the truth. Don't be nervous, tell the nation what is happening at our border. You had said not an inch of our land is taken by the Chinese. But, the satellite images, comments of the generals, the people of Ladakh all say, Chinese troops have intruded into our places in many places. I urge the PM, please tell us the truth", Gandhi said in his message.

Gandhi also promised Modi the total support of the Congress in fighting for the national interest.


"I promise you that all of us are united with the forces and the government in fighting to safeguard the national interest. But let me caution you, if you you say that not an inch of our land is intruded, and if it is proved that Chinese have indeed snatched our land in many places, then your words will only help China."

The Congress party made this campaign by observing Friday as a day "for saluting martyrs"

Almost all senior Congress leaders too sent out messages, saluting martyrs, extending solidarity to the forces and asserting the unity of the nation while asking pointed questions of the Prime Minister about Chinese intrusions and demanding that Chinese forces be forced out of Indian land.
