A special court today convicted main accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi, former police official Sangram Singh and six others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

BANGALORE: A special court today convicted main accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi, former police official Sangram Singh and six others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The court constituted for the trial of fake stamp paper cases in Karnataka will pronounce the quantum of sentence tomorrow.

The CBI was entrusted with the investigation of prosecution of the Telgi cases in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam.

On June 28, 2007, Telgi was sentenced to 13 years Rigorous Imprisonment and fined Rs 202 crore on various counts in one of the main cases of the scandal.
