Telangana to deploy drones for women safety in IT corridor

HYDERABAD: After curbing crime and open defecation in other parts of the state, the Telangana government is planning to deploy drones for the safety of women employees in the Cyberabad region of Hyderabad, the city’s information technology corridor, according to principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan.

He said that the police stations in Cyberabad would be equipped with drones which can trace any victim who made a stressed call (SoS) and will be traced faster while also altering the locals through a siren.

According to Ranjan, the talks for deployment of drones, the idea of which was mooted at a Hackathon recently, are at a very preliminary stage and will be rolled out this in the next one year.


He was speaking on at the inauguration of global headquarters of ZenQ, an independent software testing services company here in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The office at Ascendas V IT park with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, research labs is spread over an area of 1.09 lakh sft and will house over 800 employees.

Murali Bollu, chief executive officer of ZenQ said that the company currently has employee strength of 400 and aims to reach 1000 employees in strength in the next three years.

Also, “we aim to achieve a turnover of Rs 100 crore in next three years from Rs 42crore last fiscal, informed Murali Bollu.
