Telangana supporters' stir fails to hit rail and road traffic

VIJAYAWADA: The ' Chalo Assembly' stir called by Telangana supporters failed to affect road and rail traffic in Hyderabad city today.

Though trains between Vijayawada and Secunderabad ran late by more than an hour, no train was cancelled. The Adilabad-Tirupati Krishna Express via Secunderabad ran 90 minutes behind schedule, while other trains from Secunderabad to Vijayawada also ran late by an hour.

APSRTC officials informed that all services except air-conditioned services from Vijayawada to Hyderabad ran as usual.

The Assistant Traffic Managerof Pandit Jawaharal Nehru Bus Station, Vijayawada, told PTI that air-conditioned buses will also run from evening, after the situation is reviewed.
