Telangana crosses 97K mark in Covid cases, death toll reaches 729

The fatality rate in the state on account of Covid-19 stood at 0.74%, lower than the national average of 1.91%. The government reported that 46.13% of the deceased had died of Covid-19 and 53.87% due to comorbidities.
The bulletin said 1,195 persons had recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 75,186. The recovery rate in the state stood at 77.17%, higher than the national average of 73.64%.
By Wednesday night, the state reported 21,509 active Covid-19 cases, including 15,076 persons in either home or institutional isolation.
Telangana said it had tested 23,841 samples by Wednesday, taking the total tests done in the state to 821,311. The state said it was awaiting results of 968 samples. The number of tests per million people amounted to 22,122 by Wednesday night.
