PATNA: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav today hailed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for proposing to impose alcohol prohibition in Bihar with effect from April 1 next year and said the CM was fulfilling his poll promise to the people of Bihar.

"We welcome the Chief Minister's decision to impose prohibition in Bihar.... he is implementing what he had promised to the people of Bihar ahead of elections," he told reporters here.

Hailing the move, the Deputy Chief Minister took a dig at the BJP saying "the grand alliance is not a 'Jumla Party' as we have delivered on our promise."

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's younger son sought to have a 'no nonsense' approach to governance saying he did not approve of people coming to meet him without work.

"We have been voted to power to work and not be surrounded by people without work," Tejaswi said.

His elder brother and Health minister Tej Pratap Yadav expressed dissatisfaction with facilities at the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and said patients were not getting proper treatment at the premier hospital in the state capital.
